El Caminito del Rey..King's Pathway(왕의 오솔길)

El Caminito del Rey라는 이름을 가진 세계에서 가장 위험한 오솔길이다.

현재는 폐쇄된 상태이나 모험을 즐기는 관광객들의 발길이 아직도 이어지고 있는 곳.

El Caminito del Rey의 뜻은 King's Pathway 즉 왕의 오솔길이라는 뜻으로

1901년 두개의 폭포를 잇는 길로 만들어졌으며 1905년 완공되었다고 한다.

1921년 알폰소 13세가 이곳을 지나갔다 하여 현재의 이름이 붙게 되었다.

1999년에서 2000년에 걸쳐 두차례의 사고로 인해 4명의 사상자가 발생,

입장이 금지되었으나 아직도 많은 이들이 찾고 있다.

2006년 안달루시아 정부에서 이곳을 재개발하는 의견을 내었으며 700만유로가 들 것으로 추정된다.

El Caminito del Rey (English: The King's pathway) is a walkway, now fallen into disrepair, pinned along the steep walls of a narrow gorge in El Chorro, near Álora in Málaga, Spain. The name is often shortened to El Camino del Rey.

In 1901 it was obvious that the workers of the Chorro Falls and Gaitanejo Falls needed a walkway to cross between the falls, to provide transport of materials, vigilance and maintenance of the channel. Construction of the walkway lasted four years. It was finished in 1905.

In 1921 the king Alfonso XIII had to cross the walkway for the inauguration of the dam Conde del Guadalhorce, and it became known by its present name.

In some places the walkway has collapsed

The walkway has now gone many years without maintenance, and is in a highly deteriorated and dangerous state. It is one meter (3 ft) in width, and is over 700 feet (200 m) above the river. Nearly all of the path has no handrail. Some parts of the walkway have completely collapsed and have been replaced by a beam and a metallic wire on the wall. Many people have lost their lives on the walkway in recent years. After four people died in two accidents in 1999 and 2000, the local government closed the entrances. However, adventurous tourists still find their way into the walkway.

The regional government of Andalusia budgeted for 2006 a restoration plan^[1] estimated at � 7 million.
